Final Site

My final site...

There were a few things i couldnt get to go the way i wanted them to, however im pretty pleased overall with how it turned out.

My header isnt appearing how its supposed to, its supposed to be transparent, as it is in dreamweaver but in both safari and explorer its showing up with a white background.

3# Natue Photographer Header & Footer Design

I created this Header Design with another piece of my nature photography.

Navigation Bar

I created this navigation bar by repeating an image from the header in it, making it follow on.

The roll over colour is green to match the colour scheme of the site.

1# Animated Banner Using Shapes

I created this animated this template of a website by using flash to animate the header.

Animated Banner Using Shapes

My first flash website is pretty basic, I animated the stars around the text to keep it simple, as the text is quite decorative, I didn't want too much going on.

1# Nature Photographer Header and Footer Design

This is my second header and footer design. I used a piece of my nature photography for the background of my header and footer. I split the photograph in two parts and used a script style font.

2# Illustration Header & Footer Design

This is my First Header and Footer design, Its for an Illustrator and Graphic Designer.

I made ink marks on a piece of paper, and scanned them in and used that as the background for my header and footer.

I decided to use a handwritten style of font to fit the style of the site.

I chose play.com as my final website as its a very popular games, music and gadget site, and there's a huge market for gaming as its getting more popular as time goes on.
I like this site because its easy to use. The design aids this by having a simple layout that features one wide column through the middle of the page which shows any offers or sales that are currently available, which would appeal to most visitors of the site, and then has two columns either side, one featuring a menu which you can quickly select what your looking for under category (shown in the pink box) and on the right (within the green box) it shows their most popular selling items of the week.
The typography used is nice and simple and easy to read, and I like the way the top bar (yellow box), is clearly laid out, which allows visitors to access other areas of the site easily.

BearSkinRug is the website of professional Illustrator and Designer Kevin Cornell. I chose this website as I really like the visual appearance of the layout. There's alot going on, on the page in general, including information which is shown in the pink box, and illustrations demonstrated in the purple and green boxes. However it looks neat as it is sectioned off into clear columns and rows and there isn't a lot of advertisements or flash content. I love how the website style relates to the actual purpose of the website, which is reflected in the style of typography and the sketchy grey background.
Within the red box is the site name/logo is in a sketchy personalised font, and fits the sites style perfectly. Featuring behind the name/logo is ink/paint blotches in greyscale which fits both the colour scheme and the style very well.
MSN is a popular website that is not only a search engine [as highlighted in green], a popular news engine [as seen in the orange section], but is also a social networking website in that it allows you to use msn messenger and hotmail to email other people.
I like the design of MSN's homepage as its very busy and there's alot of interesting features going on that catch your eye instantly as you visit the site. The design uses images to illustrate text as alot of people are instantly attracted to image rather than text. People use the internet alot of the time for entertainment purposes and an escape from their busy lifestyles [as they do with TV], I feel MSN's design is a good example of clever design as it caters to everyone.

The website above is for the Indie band Kasabian. I chose this site because I think the design is great for layout as it has clear sections for different features. The website has a lot of detail however is sectioned off into columns which keeps it looking neat and sleek. I love the colour scheme and the way the layout is split into 3 columns. The menu, which lets you select various features is clear and easy to access. It's situated at the top of the page which is easily seen. The overall visual quality of the site is smart and easy to access.
I like how the headings are clear as shown in the red box for news, and green for audio and video.
The typography is easy to read and simple.

I decided to use a social networking site as one of the websites to analyse as they are very popular in today's modern culture and are used by mostly 14 - 35 yr olds all over the world.
I decided to use myspace as i feel it offers alot more generally in that you can personalize your individual profile in many ways, and myspace is well known for its music scene, promoting unknown bands [which it advertises alot on its homepage]. I like the layout of myspace's homepage, I think the one thing it has over other social networking sites is the options to interact with things like video and music and images which is shown within the red box, and green box. I think the layout is sectioned off well, and visually its plain and simple, which is good for its target audience as beginners may not know how to use the networking site and be put off therefore not sign up to the site, however the design allows them to feel comfortable in using myspace as its easy to use.
